Who We Are

Nookscope is developed by Vadym Yakovliev (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Contact: sower-11-springs@icloud.com.

Overview

This policy describes what information Nookscope collects, how it is collected and used, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw consent or request deletion. Nookscope has no accounts, no cloud video upload, and no advertising. It does not request location permission, does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across apps or websites.

Camera Video and Local Data

Camera video is processed on your device. Recordings and app preferences are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us or to Google. If you share or export a recording, the destination you choose receives that copy under its own privacy practices.

Optional Usage Analytics

Nookscope uses Google Analytics for Firebase only if you choose “Allow Analytics”. It is off by default, is not required to use the app, and can be turned off at any time in the app’s Privacy settings. Nothing from before your choice is collected later.

When enabled, Analytics collects app interactions (such as starting the camera stream, changing video filters, and starting, saving or opening recordings) with related settings and status (such as manual or automatic start, filter, processing and upscaling settings, video resolution, recording-length range, and whether a recording was interrupted); app-instance and device identifiers; device model, operating system and app version; and approximate location derived from your IP address. Camera images, recording names, file paths and camera serial numbers are not included. We use this information only to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Turning Analytics off stops further collection and resets the Analytics data stored on your device. Information already sent is deleted according to the retention periods below.

Crash Reporting

Nookscope uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic reports when the app crashes or encounters a failure. Reports contain crash stack traces, installation identifiers, device model, operating system and app version, and technical diagnostics. If Analytics is enabled, reports may also include a list of recent app events. We use these reports only to identify, diagnose and fix crashes and to improve the app’s reliability. Crash reporting is on by default and separate from Analytics. You can turn it off at any time with the “Send crash reports” switch in the app’s Privacy settings; crash reports that have not been sent are then deleted on your device and are not sent later.

Feedback You Send

The Feedback action opens an email draft in your mail app. The draft may include the app version, operating system, device model, camera name, current settings and error status; you can edit or remove any of it. We receive nothing unless you send the email. The draft is handled by your mail app, whose provider may process or synchronize it under its own privacy practices. If you send it, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments, and use them only to respond and to investigate the issue.

Service Providers

We require service providers that receive personal data on our behalf to protect it with the same or equal protection described in this policy and required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines. Google processes crash reports under the Firebase data processing terms and Analytics data under the Google Analytics data processing terms, and uses it to provide, maintain and protect those services for us, not for advertising. The Firebase SDKs also send limited technical information, such as SDK and platform versions and delivery performance, which Google uses to operate and maintain these services. Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. See Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google’s Privacy Policy. Feedback emails are stored in our iCloud Mail account, operated by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else.

Legal Bases

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process Analytics data on the basis of your consent, crash reports on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and fixing failures, and feedback emails to respond to your request.

Retention and Deletion

Your Choices and Rights

In the app’s Privacy settings you can withdraw Analytics consent and turn off crash reporting at any time. To access or delete your information, object to other processing, or ask a privacy question, email sower-11-springs@icloud.com. We can find feedback emails by your email address. Analytics and crash reports use installation identifiers rather than your name or email, so we may be unable to identify your records from an email request alone; if information you provide lets us identify them, we will handle your request as required by applicable law, and otherwise they are removed under the retention periods above. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to correct or restrict processing of your data and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Nookscope is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Changes never turn on Analytics; it requires your choice in the app.
